Dedicated to the inspection of welded rolled tubes, the Sectorial Magnetizing Unit magnetically saturates the weld zone in order to carry out segmental coil inspection on the same zone. The aim is to detect the presence of small defects (holes and cracks) in the weld zone, to identify open or interrupted welds, and to detect longitudinal defects.
A wide range of sectorial probes are available, adapted to the tube’s diameter.
The Eddy Current instruments associated with this system are the Zet@Premium and Zet@Micro, available in standard touch-screen or rackable versions.
These system comply with international standards such as ASTM, API, BS, AF, DIN, EN, SEP and others.

The welded rolled tube passes through the sectorial magnetizing system, which integrates a sectorial probe (differential and/or absolute) following the tube surface. The presence of defects varies the impedance of the coil, triggering a signal on the control screen. Results are displayed in real-time on the instrument screen in a time base and/or impedance plan, with real-time alarm management.
