STRIP INSPECTION SYSTEM

This inspection strip system is installed directly on the production line, enabling the detection of surface and subsurface defects—such as longitudinal and transverse cracks, inclusions, scratches, and more—in continuously cast aluminum strips. The in-line, high-speed inspection takes place immediately after the furnace.

The multi-channel and multi-frequency electronics of Zet@Master, combined with our tailor-made software, ensure 100% inspection. This mapping software centralizes and collects data from the NDT equipment to generate a color-coded map of the inspected product.

This system meets the requirements of current European and international standards (ASTM, API, DIN, SEP, BS, ISO, ASME, ASNT) and calibration standards and complies with NF EN ISO 22232-1.

The system is tailored to customers’ needs, including strip thickness and width.

MAIN ADVANTAGES

  • High inspection speed
  • High sensitivity of defects detection
  • Up to 64 channels
  • Robust monobloc construction
  • Non-contact with the product
  • Capable of handling surface temperatures around 380°C at the exit of the hot rolling mill
  • Floating Eddy Current inspection head allowing the follow variation of the strip
  • High-performance CMS Mapping software
  • Products Range

The aluminum strip passes through a mechanical head equipped with Eddy Current probes to inspect both the top and bottom surfaces simultaneously. Up to 64 Eddy Current surface probes are positioned in cassettes to perform high-speed inspections at speeds of up to 60 m/min.

Thanks to the Zet@Master instrument and mapping software, inspection results are displayed in real-time. A complete inspection report is generated at the end of the process for improved traceability.
