Rotating Head RotoETscan

Installed directly on the production line, the RotoETscan rotating head is dedicated to detecting longitudinal defects on round products such as tubes, bars and wires in ferrous or non-ferrous materials.

A second version of the RotoETscan rotating head is available, called the TRVC, for inspection of small cylindrical parts such as piston-pins, rods or pins.

The associated Eddy Current instrument is the Zet@Master, available in standard version with touch screen or rack-mounted. CMS Eddy Current software, Zet@Setting, allows the inspection in real-time with a better analysis of the signals. Complete inspection reports can be created at the end of the inspection.

This system complies with international standards such as ASTM, API, BS, AF, DIN, EN, SEP and others.

  • Operating Principle

The product passes in translation through the rotating head. Two or four Eddy Current sensors inside the head are rotated around the product to search for longitudinal defects. Inspection is performed with a helical pitch over the entire surface of the product.

Results are displayed in real time on the Zet@Master instrument screen in a time base and/or impedance plane, and possibly on a supervision system.
